Loved By The Green Edit Stamp Criteria

When you see the ‘Loved By The Green Edit’ stamp, you can be sure that the brand in its entirety (including all products) meet the highest standards in what we consider to be clean beauty. This is all-encompassing, from ingredients to packaging and environmental impact. Each brand goes through an application process and is then vetted to ensure it’s cruelty-free, operates sustainably, utilises responsible packaging and is formulated without potentially harmful ingredients as demonstrated by our glossary of ingredient ‘no’ list:

  • Oxybenzone, Avobenzone & Octinoxate (found in chemical sunscreens)

  • Parabens - (Methyl-, Propyl-, Butyl-, Ethyl Paraben)

  • PEGs and Thermoplastics (Polyphenylene oxide, Polyethylene Glycol) 

  • Phenoxyethanol – that is more than 1% of a formulation

  • Polyacrylamide & Acrylamide 

  • Plastic Microbeads

  • Rescorcinol

  • Retinyl Palmitate

  • Silicones and Petroleum-based ingredients – Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone, Paraffin Wax 

  • Sulfates – SLS + SLES

  • Talc - that is free of any asbestos can be used in the formulation provided that brand conducts testing to ensure that talc is free of any Asbestos.

  • Toluene

  • Tricoslan

  • Tricolcarban(Polyphenylene oxide, Polyethylene glycol)

We have curated and approved the cleanest available brands and products in each beauty and lifestyle category. Due to the nature of some products, there may be exemptions to the list above due to the ingredients necessary in the production of certain products. Decisions are made on a case-by-case manner with the utmost transparency. For example 12-Free nail polish which contains over 80% plant-sourced ingredients and comply with the European Cosmetic Safety legislation are exempt. Participating brands must always be cruelty-free and ethically produced.
